Good Morning
Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her. And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not. And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise. And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother. And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people. Luke 7:12-16
The mourners didn’t cause him to stop.
Nor did the large crowd,
or even the body of the dead man on the stretcher.
It was the woman–
the look on here face and the redness in her eyes.
He knew immediately what was happening.
It was here son who was being carried out, her only son.
And if anyone knows the pain that comes from losing your only son,
God does.
So he did it;
he went into action.
“Don’t cry,” he told the mother.
“Arise,” he told the boy.
The dead man spoke, devil ran, and the people were reminded of this truth: For those who know the Author of Life, death is nothing more than Satan’s dead-man’s-bluff. Max Lucado
Jesus didn’t let the busyness of life, distract him for the focus of his mission – to seek and save that which was lost.
Trust God for your day. . .Today
With my prayers, desiring yours, Leslie
