Today’s thought – Procrastination

per frost flowersThe last flowers before the frost.

Good Morning

My mom procrastinates. I procrastinate.
I have even passed on that gene to my daughters.
This devotional encourages me to just ‘DO IT’!

2 Chronicles 24:4-5
And it came to pass after this, that Joash was minded to repair the house of the Lord. 5 And he gathered together the priests and the Levites, and said to them, Go out unto the cities of Judah, and gather of all Israel money to repair the house of your God from year to year, and see that ye hasten the matter. Howbeit the Levites hastened it not.

No unwelcome tasks become any the less unwelcome
by putting them off till tomorrow.
It is only when they are behind us and done,
that we begin to find that there is
a sweetness to be tasted afterwards,
and that the remembrance of unwelcome duties
un-hestatingly done is welcome and pleasant.
Accomplished,
they are full of blessing,
and there is a smile on their faces as they leaves us.
Undone,
they stand threatening and disturbing our tranquility.
and hindering our communion with God.
If there be lying before you
any bit of work from which you shrink,
go straight up to it,
and do it at once.
The only way to get rid of it is to do it.

Up and at ’em . . . Today
With my prayers, desiring yours, Leslie
