Three on Thursday – Time to Piece

My word for 2081 – FINISHING

As in finish what you’ve started.
Since November, 2017,
I have finished 5 crochet projects,
three that were waiting in time out
and two that I started with new yarn.
I’m only working on one project at a time,
so unlike me the project butterfly,
that I am.

This year I’m joining
350 blocks in 2018 Project
with Shelly at Prairie Moon Quilts.

January’s goal – 10 blocks

Last night, the last night of January,
I decided I had to piece something!
But first, three things,

1. I had to straighten my shed on the right.
It had become fairly cluttered,
a little yarn here, a few recipes there,
a quilt block of the month piled here,
and miscellaneous stuff everywhere.

2. Next  up the ironing board.

3. Desk and Sewing machine ready.

Three of these blocks from 30’s fabrics were the end result.

Now I have 20 blocks completed,
and seven more cut out.
I don’t know if I’ll stop at 25 or cut more for 36 blocks,
I like square quilts for kids.

May 350 Block Report

“Our new goal for May is to make 46 blocks
for a year-to-date total of 149.

and our new goal for June, which is 38 blocks,
for a year-to-date total of 187.”
Prairie Moon Quilts

My total to date –
January 33 + February 34 + March 22 + April 12 + May 0 = 101

Yes, zero, I cut strips for my 30’s scrappy trip-around-the-world,
but nothing sewn together.

,
I don’t even have a new picture.
I love the way these blocks look.

We left Sacramento, CA, on our vacation road trip on May 11.
I did pack my sewing machine
but it hasn’t seen the light of day.
I’m doing good to get in some crocheting on my #100 day project.
We are now in Holmes County Ohio.

April 350 Block Project

‘. . .our new goal for April, which is 29 blocks,
for a year-to-date total of 103 by the end of April.’ – Prairie Moon Quilts

My totals at the beginning of April,
January 33 + February 34 + March 22 = 89 blocks!

Life and trying to do ‘something'(a crochet project started in 2015),
for 100 days straight ate into my fun time.

I completed 12 scrappy, happy 30’s blocks in April.

I almost made it!
January 33 + February 34 + March 22 + April 12 = 101!
I’ll accept a pat on the back.

I don’t even have a new picture.
I love the way these blocks look.

Our new goal for May is to make 46 blocks for a year-to-date total of 149.
Not sure how many I’ll get done,
because we’re leaving Thursday,
on our 2nd cross-country road trip,
We live in Sacramento, CA area.

March 350 Block Project

350-2017

‘Our new goal for March is 12 blocks, for a year-to-date total of 74’. Prairie Moon Quilts

I started March with 67 blocks.

I finished these 6 crazy pieced blocks for my daughter’s customer,
topstitching the pieces to the foundation fabric
and doing the setting sashes and border.
The pieces looked to be from someones clothing,

4 Scrappy Trip Around the World Blocks

I stumbled on this pattern and it said make me in 30’s fabric.
I love 30’s prints. So it was easy to obey.
Blocks will finish about 14 3/4 inches.
I haven’t settled on how many blocks I’ll end up making.

I’ve been making pot holders as gifts, 3 for March.
Still using bright, happy 30’s.

I also fussy cut 9 blocks for quilt in progress.
Blocks are sewn together, ready for borders.
Picture, hopefully, next month.

This gives me a total of 22 blocks for March.
January 33 + February 34 = March 22 = 89 blocks!

I’m happy!

A Fabric Scrap Problem?

Confessions Of A Fabric Addict

On Wednesday’s, Sarah @ Confessions of a Fabric Addict, confesses that she might have a problem with her scraps of fabric. She shows us all the quilty stuff she makes out of scraps
and asks us to share our scrap creations.

I have enjoyed looking at her quilts.
I have bookmarked quilting ideas.
Today I’ll show what I made Monday night
when all was quiet and cozy.

1st block of A Scrappy Trip Around the World.

I love 30’s fabric.

I don’t see any problem at all with scraps of fabric.
