Simple Woman’s Daybook –July 6, 2011

TODAY is  July 6, 2011

Outside my window…lawn furniture and tables scattered around the yard, remnants of friends, laughing, loving, encouraging and enjoying the fourth!

Today is colored by  ‘first thing this morning visit’ to radiologist/oncologist to discuss MRI results and treatment for the Farmer’s prostate cancer. I’m still trying to absorb the meaning of it all.

I am thinking…how do I accept this gift from God gracefully

I am thankful for…there is treatment for the cancer and the treatment is not invasive

From my learning rooms…how to continue to lean of Christ’s words

From the kitchen… the first fresh cherry tomatoes and cucumbers from the Farmer’s garden

I am wearing…a black tee over my slip, it is hot today

I am creating…finishing up Miss A’s dress and small wall hanging today

I am going…remind my self of the promises of God

I am reading…So Big by Edna Ferber

I am hoping…to cast on Him my pessimistic fears

I am hearing…the roar of the air conditioner and the yawns from the Farmer

Around the house…let’s just squint and maybe fuzzy will look better

One of my favorite things…being able to drive

A few plans for the rest of the week:   right now, just one day, one step at a time, hoping not to fall on my face, except to  pray

Here are pictures I am sharing…

The almost finished dress for Miss A

Almost first tomatoes and cucumbers (the very first tomatoes didn’t make it out of the garden).

Tomatoes, tied and staked, and cucumbers, growing up the field fencing.

Scripture:  Psalms 56:3  What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.
