On Tuesday’s Carole hosts ‘Ten on Tuesdays’.
She chooses a topic – we list ten items.
10 Foods You Eat Regularly Now That Were Exotic (or unheard of) When You Were a Kid.
The only think I can think of is: I eat out more.
Eating out was almost unheard of when I was young.
So eating out was such a treat, even if just hamburgers.
I’ve used a lot of my mom’s recipes and menus.
I can’t improve goodness.
And I’m not an adventuresome eater.
visit with Carole here.
What a fascinating topic.
My poor Mother has a mental illness and didn’t cook or like food.
My late brother and I lived on chips ( fries), cans and what our neighbour gave us (mainly scones and cakes). Sometimes pearl barley soup which I scoffed cold.
Today I am the complete opposite. I have learnt to cook and I make most things from scratch and adore falafel and tahini.
My son loves my cooking and this makes me happy!
As I read some of the other bloggers who answered the question, I realized I do eat things we never had at home. My comfort food, though, goes back to what Mom made.
Both of my sons are great on the grill. and the oldest has his own special items that his sons think ‘only Dad can make it right!’ I think we both did good 🙂
