We agree, the Farmer and I
that the Road Trip we took in 2017,
the year of our 50th anniversary was perfect.
Did we always agree?
NO.
There were disagreements;
sometimes slightly or
not so slightly raised voices
and even louder silences.
Did we have a good time?
Yes!
We met people who became friends;
visited with people we knew who became dear friends;
sights we saw that we would visit again in a heart beat
and memories when dusted off shine with great brightness.
Road trips are like life:
bumps, pot holes and u-turns
scenic surprises and sunsets
(I don’t get up early enough to see many sunrises)
shared hopes, accepted flaws
and great love anyway.
We agree.

Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
50th Anniversary! That is fantastic! My farmer and I have been married for three but we hope to one celebrate this amazing milestone you described. And yes, life many times mimics a road trip. And I’m glad you had fun.
With commitment and choosing each day, one day at a time to continue to love, or some days to like, you’ll make it.
thanks for visiting.
Great! Enjoyed the encouraging message. My biker and I have been married 44 going on 45 years. Love those road trips.
Yep, road trips are special, long or short. thanks for visiting
I love this Leslie! My husband and I have wonderful road trip memories too and I love the comparison to life! So true! You’ve made me smile today, Cindy Wilkins
A person has to take a smile along on a road trip, don’t they.
Beautifully written, and makes me miss road trips!

Congratulations on 50 years! That’s wonderful! This is my favorite line:
“…shared hopes, accepted flaws
and great love anyway.”
Something to hold onto for sure. 🙂
