Yarn Along – Re-Knits and Gifts

yarnalong_gsheller_gray
On Wednesday’s knitters go to Ginny’s to share all the wonderful projects being worked on, finished, frogged, cried over, and learned from. They also tell what they are reading and a little of the storyline or provoking thoughts. I think it is great. So many books, knitting ideas and hints on how to make knitting more enjoyable.

My wish wasn’t as I wished!
nove 6 redo 001It wasn’t as full as I like.
My favorite yarn shop, Babetta’s Yarn and Gifts’
(be sure to visit if you are ever in the Sacramento area) guru
suggested adding a wedge panel to each front edge.
he adding has begun.

Gingko Crescent was a disappointment also,
not the pattern but my tight knitting;
which I find strange because I usually knit very loose.
nove 6 redo 002
So frogged, and began again with larger needles,
being conscious of my tension and adding beads.

Susie’s Coffee I LOVE IT!

Birthday hug from my daughter

nove 6 suzi - hugs 004Birthday in August, but just took pictures

nove 6 suzi - hugs 005I love it!
I don’t know the name of the pattern

nove 6 suzi - hugs 006It’s full and flowing and wraps around like a hug,
That’s the best kind of shawl, I think.

I been re-listening to Dee Henderson’s the O’Mallay series while knitting.

Today I’m joining Tami’ WIP (works in progress) as Ginny at Yarn along gave birth to a baby boy this week.

july 3 yarn along 006I finished this one October 9, 2013. No picture yet, it is at my daughter’s, she blocks for me. I love this pattern! I want to make me one, it is a crescent shaped half circle and wraps around me like a hug. What more can I ask for in a shawl. Ravelry link.

oct 23 my wish, ginko, new jane 006“My Wish’ started October 10. I have been very faithfully (for me) knitting on this until Tuesday until I had to babysit 3 girlies under 4 and didn’t want to try beading with six busy hands. I’m having fun with this one. Ravelry link

oct 23 my wish, ginko, new jane 009Gingko Crescent was my choice, plain knitting K2, yo, k, yo edging, BUT I,m using #5 and I think I should use #6. Decisions, decisions Ravelry link

(I’m a day late.)

July 31 003
Trisha’s baby blanket is finished.
I love the ruffle,
She has three girls, one born Monday.
I’m knitting  three afghans.
I’m not sure who will get which one,
I may let the older girls pick their favorite.

July 31 007
July 31 006Number 2 – Pinwheel afghan for one of Trisha’s girls.
This is a fun knit.
July 31 010 Number 3 – a favorite afghan, Cuddle wheel,
worked in short rows making 12 pinwheel sections.
I have knit many of these.

July 31 005Summer Flies for Suzanne is knit with Debbie Bliss Eco Cotton,
I like this pattern and the changes in stitches.
I think I would like to knit again in a wool blend of some kind.

July 31 008
July 31 009 And finally a humble dishcloth,
I love garter stitch,
it is so regular and even and simple.

I’m listening to the first book, Hidden Empire, of the Saga of the Seven Suns by Kevin Anderson. I have the first thee books downloaded. I found out there are nine books in the series, I’m not sure I want to listen to all of them.

Join us at Ginny’s.

Have you ever seen so many knitted items that say WOW!
Have there ever been so many KAL’s that tempt before resistance?
Raise your hand.

Emily’s Cowl is on its third repeat, one more to go. No new picture
2 KALs are stalled, one I should have added a life line, now I have to rip back the hard way; the other is waiting patiently for me to settle down and work on projects in an orderly fashion.

Wendy Knits Summer Mystery Shawl is swatched.

If you send a quilter/knitter to Grandma’s. . .

If you send a quilter/knitter to Grandma’s. . .

she’ll have to take a sewing machine, (she has done this before)

an iron, pressing mat, rotary cutter, scissors a cutting mat
and a project over due that needs to be finished now.

She’ll also take 6 shawls in various stages of completion:
from almost there, finish ripping out the cast off and re-do with enough beads for finishing.

to just one more clue

to just two more clues

to where did I leave off on this one

to so I took this one off the needles to use for another project–now it’s on a lifeline, how do I rescue it.

to I think I’ll start this over
or not maybe just rip it out and use the yarn for ……..

this goes with me, ‘coz I can knit and I don’t have to think much,

(yep, it’s a Longerberger basket)

and a sweater to try to learn how to knit the both sleeves at one time on one long circular needle,

thinking she will get at least 3 shawls finished.

WAIT!! the quilter/knitter will only be at Grandma’s for 5 days, and there are meals to cook and the flower garden to water, and naps to take. . . . . . . . .

Joining Ginny and all the other stay at home knitters this week.
