Sunday Bible Reading

482012 001

Hebrews 11:23-26

By faith Moses, after his birth,
was hidden for three months by his parents,
because they saw he was a beautiful and divinely favored child;
and they were not afraid of the king’s (Pharaoh’s) decree.
By faith Moses, when he had grown up,
refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter,
because he preferred to endure the hardship of the people of God
rather than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin.
He considered the reproach of the Christ
[that is, the rebuke he would suffer for his faithful obedience to God]
to be greater wealth than all the treasures of Egypt;
for he looked ahead to the reward [promised by God].

Five Minute Friday – Green

Joining with Kate at Heading Home
for five minutes of free writing.
“This is meant to be a free write, which means:
no editing, no over-thinking,
no worrying about perfect grammar or punctuation.
Just write.”

This week’s prompt – GREEN

GO

Green lawns
Green fiels
Green pastures – Got it!

Psalm 23:2
green3
I have been reading ‘A Shepherd looks at the 23rd Psalm’
by Phillip Keller. He says sheep cannot rest
if they feel fear, tension, aggravation or hunger.
And it is only the shepherd who is able to do anything about these needs.

In my life
as I trust the Shepherd

for freedom from daily or sudden fears
for freedon from unrest
for freedom from irritations and distrubances
for freedom from soul hunger

(even though the situations may not change)
just knowing HE has

everything under His watchful eye
everything in His times and seasons
everything is working for my good

brings me rest in these peaceful green pastures of His care.
Only He can make me lie down and rest
as I draw near to Him in my unrest.

STOP

Picture added after stop.

Keep the Path Clear

P1080427

My day started okay,
get up, dressed, comb my hair, go into the kitchen

then a few words from an irritated spouse – SMACK!

Wow I didn’t see that coming.

Was the statement based on truth? yes
Should the truth have been taken care of earlier? yes

Problem — A spatula not washed.
P1080426(Yes, I only have one.)

My response, keeping my mouth shut,
included
guilt for the neglected bath,
unbelief at the pettiness for not just washing it himself
the remembrance of times that I had taken care of things
beyond the knowledge of him
a huge why?
and a prayer “Lord, what do I do now?”

Forgive and be still
and put a watch before my lips
especially when something happens that pushes my irritation button.

It’s 6:00pm

Of course, now, the action and reaction seem so silly.

I am filled with thankfulness.
My words would have blown the irritation way out proportion.
My quietness saved the rest of the day.
I’m still working on – What do I need to learn?

Proverbs 31:26
She opens her mouth in [skillful and godly] wisdom,
And the teaching of kindness is on her tongue [giving counsel and instruction].AMP
resounded in my mind.

But when I looked up that scripture –
I read the next verse  –
if I had followed this one

Proverbs 31:27
She looks well to how things go in her household,
And does not eat the bread of idleness.AMP

The whole situation would never have happened.

Psalm 119:105
Your word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path. AMP

Dear Lord, Help me follow your light (Word) so I can keep the path clear for others. Amen

This is how Lisa begins her blog, Small Things, on Wednesdays.

Lately I’ve been crocheting.
I forget what I stumbled upon that pushed my
“I wonder if I could do that” button.
Mandelas, Corner 2 Corner, Frank O’Randle, and Cherry Heart
have stretched my simple crochet beginnings.
I’m loving it with the same enjoyment I found with trying new knitting patterns.

P1080421My Rings of Change, designer Frank O’Randle using Magic Light, ICE yarn.

I’ve started reading  ‘Alaskan Skies’ series,  #1 Touching the Clouds  by Bonnie Leon.
“Kate Evans is an adventurous and independent young woman with a pioneering spirit. She pilots a mail-delivery plane in the forbidding Alaskan wilderness, the lone woman in a male profession. But even that seems easy compared to finding true love. She likes a fellow pilot and would even consider marrying him–if it weren’t for Paul, a mysterious man on her mail route with a gentle spirit and a past to hide. Can Kate break through the walls Paul has put up around his heart? And will her quest for adventure be her demise? “
Light reading – so far liking the author.   Linked to Goodreads

Wool on Sundays – Organising

Wool on Sundays consists of  “makes or musings or photos – related to knitting, crochet, felting, spinning or yarn”.

Organizing is a verb meaning  arranging into a structured whole. Organising is the British spelling.
I really like to organize.
I like to sort through stuff,
tossing items of little worth in my eyes,
bagging things of some worth to someone else, maybe,
and organizing those precious pieces that were left for me.

I have a little dish on my table for necessary tools.
DISH
My needles and hooks have special spots.

A shed all my own; I won’t open the doors because it really needs organizing, AGAIN!

All the organizing makes it easier to knit or crochet.

I’ve been enjoying mandelas recently.

I, too, have a favorite ‘wooly’ mug.
