Today’s thought – Living in God’s Presence

silouetteSunrise

Good Morning,

Ephesians 6:18
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

How do I live in God’s presence?
How do I detect his unseen hand on my shoulder and his inaudible voice in my ear? . . .
How can you and I grow familiar wit the voice of God?
Here are a few ideas:

Give God your waking thoughts.
Before you face the day, face the Father.
Before you step out of bed, step into his presence.

Give God your waiting thoughts.
Spend time with him in silence.

Give God your whispering thoughts.
Imagine considering every moment as a potential time of communion with God.

Give God your waning thoughts.
At the end of the day; let your mind settle on him.
Conclude the day as you began it: talking to God.

February 2, Today’s thought – He That Goeth with Thee

Jan713 sky 9am 001The eastern sky at 9am one January morning,
a beautiful start of a new day.
“This is the day the Lord hath made, I will rejoice and be glad.”

Good Morning

Be strong and of a good courage,
fear not, nor be afraid of them;
for the Lord thy God ,
he it is that doth go with thee;
he will not fail thee,
nor forsake thee.
Deuteronomy 31:6

There is something very encouraging in the idea of a new start.
We should keep short accounts with God,
and live not only day by day but moment by moment.
This the staleness will disappear from life.
His mercies will be new new every morning,
and each experience will come to us like living waters
fresh from the fountains of his love and grace.
There is something most attractive in the idea of a new discovery,
an unexplored land,
a fresh advanced on new territory,
and new achievements.
How it lures the adventurer to the frigid zones,
and the dangerous tropics!
God has for each of us great and mighty things
which we know not,
and visions of truth and attainment which
“eye hath not seen nor ear heard,
neither hath it entered into the heart of man,
the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.”
Let us press farther on!
Dr. A. B. Simpson

Press on with the Lord. . . Today
With my prayers, desiring yours, Leslie

September 5, Today’s thought — A Life Worth Living

the Farmer’s view of the sunrise

Good Morning

Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost
that come unto God by him,
seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
Hebrews 7:25  KJV

Therefore He is able also to save to the uttermost
(completely, perfectly, finally, and for all time and eternity)
those who come to God through Him,
since He is always living to make petition to God
and intercede with Him and intervene for them.
Hebrews 7:25 Amplified Bible

What a magnificent prospect!
Does it not take your breath away?
It may well do so;
but nevertheless it is true, gloriously and eternally true,
for it is written in the Word of God.

Grip that fact;
Grip it with your whole heart:
Take risks on it;
Stake your all on it;
Whisper it to yourself with clenched teeth when you are in the heat of the fight;
Shout it to the heavens when you see the enemy about to flee;
Triumph in it;
Exalt in it!

Faith in this one thing can transfigure your whole life, and lift you to the heights of victory and glory that once seemed to you as far off and remote as the distant snows of some shining mountain summit seem to the traveler when, through a haze of sunshine, he lifts up his eyes to gaze as at some holy thing up in the blue air.

Remember,
that the life of sanctification and spiritual power can never be had cheaply.
To bestow it upon us the Lord Jesus paid the price of Calvary.
To receive it we must be at least willing
to pay the price of obedience to His simple conditions.
Remember, too, it is the only life worth living.

This is my first time joining the Scavenger Hunt. I commented on Andrea Dawn’s pictures  ‘if I were brave enough;’ that sparked a post joining with Five Minute Friday(also late).
