Scavenger Hunt Sunday

This Sunday I’m joining Ashley in a photo scavenger hunt.

The rules are simple:

Anyone can participate.
You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge. Creativity is also encouraged!
If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (with so many new participants each week, it’s the only way I know to be inclusive
Have fun!

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

I’m joining Ashley on a Scavenger Hunt.
Each week she lists five topics open to photo interpretation.
I get to take a new picture this week (first choice)
or find a picture I’ve taken and post what I’ve chosen.
I have fun matching photos to the words.

How many times drink a diet to cut back on calories!

Standing Tall

During the past year, this grandson grew 6-8 inches. He would often stand by his auntie to see who was taller. Not a question any more! (laughing, sorry their eyes look funny because of the way the light hit their contacts – its the only pic I have of them like this.

This week’s prompts were more challenging, but that is what makes this hunt so much fun. See other finds – here.

Next week I’ll be hunting for:Warped, Concentric Circles, Gear, Glazed and Marble

It is Sunday and time to show what you’ve found.

My daughter has really fast thumbs.

What the picnic grounds looked like after all the people left.

It just doesn’t get much more peaceful than this. (from the archives)

Just plain knitting — so relaxing. . .

Not such plain knitting, more challenging.

Grannies have natural inspiration to do this.

Close Up

My spider plant is coming back after getting too cold this winter.

A time for growing. . .

Scavenger Hunt Sunday items: Shadow, Keys, Smile, Unedited (SOOC) and Fish

I love all the shadows from the different grids.

This 6 year old grandson has the best smiles!

I didn’t see all the reflections until after I took this picture of spinach ready to steam, but it’s kinda neat.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday for April 22, 2012

I really do know when it’s Sunday. Sometimes life just pushes activities in a different order, so on Wednesday I’m sharing my hunt.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday items:

On our drive home from family togetherness at Thanksgiving, we found yellow snow. I wasn’t able to take the picture I had in mind.

Something that Makes/Made You Smile,
Spring Lilacs always make me smile, as I remember picking bouquets as a teenager after helping my mom clean house on Saturdays.

Ancient or Antique,
This child’s rocking chair was my husband’s who isn’t really ancient or antique. It has a fabric strip woven seat painted red like the wood.

A triple fountain splashes all the day long.

In the Sun

You have to look closely. In the sun I found a snail’s trail loop on the sidewalk.

I join with many others here at Ashley’s to share our pictures.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday — April 15, 2012

Scavenger Hunt Sunday items:

Just the simple sighting of California Golden Poppies
lets me know spring is on its way.

Who would have thought that the corn planted last year in this garden area would have self-sown to surprise us in the spring.

Saturday, April 14, I visited Foothill Quilters Guild Show, Auburn, CA.
I knew there I would find some spectacular stitches.
This quilt pattern is called Spools with feathered heart quilting.

Transportation and Foamy bubbles I found on my way home from the quilt show.

I wanted to visit the Flower Farm Nursery. It was closed, boo.
I saw these cute strollers for future gardeners.

  Foamy Bubbles

I spied a small pond with a duck.
I had to make a u-turn to see if something would work for my hunt,
instead,  I found this series of falls.
I love the sounds and sights of water with foamy bubbles.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday — April 8, 2012

This week I hunted, searched and looked until I found every item.

This blossom of wild strawberry and ladybug are new to Spring.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
John 1:1, 4

We have Chickens.                We have fresh Eggs.          We have Fragrance.

Nosy Grissabell!  All the chicks left their nests.
What a noisy disturbance occurred.

I took my camera to church this morning, thinking surely some little girl will be wearing Easter pink.  What I found was our pastor’s wife’s shoes!

I collect Tom Clark figurines. Wilkes and Molly are my favorites.
It is obvious they are in love and have loved for a long time.
When the Farmer and I were going together, he would often play and sing while I finished my chores.  These hold a special place in my heart.  The Farmer hasn’t played in a long time.
Our love continues;  in June will be our 45th anniversary.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday — April 1, 2012

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

Evening clouds

Sacramento Skies are beautiful all year round.
This one  is  from my stash.

Sun flare

From my pillow I see the sun flare  saying  Wake Up

Seven little heads peek from the storyteller’s sarape.
I bought this in New Mexico I am the storyteller in our family and all the littlies gather round,
I love it.

High Angle

This oak tree looms high and the blackbirds sound like a flock of gossipy women.

Low Angle

Stooping low I saw  rosemary blossoms through the dried grasses bordering the library sidewalk.  (I liked the angles of the grass for a double ‘angle’ picture.)

Scavenger Hunt Sunday –March 25

Scavenger Hunt Sunday items:

Whimsy  —   Playfully quaint or fanciful,
especially in an appealing and amusing way.

To me, this squirrel fulfills the definition.

Maybe this hat I knitted this week for grandson, Alex
could be called whimsical, also

the Farmer makes dust as he cleans up the sides of the driveway.

Seed or Sprout

These succulents sprout flower stalks every spring.

and Swing or Drop

I went looking for dropped blossoms from magnolias or camillas;
What a Find!
a real swing,
a dropped orange
and a dropped red camilla
seen through a chain-link fence laced with wisteria vines.

I had  fun looking for scavenger items; the harder part was picking out which pictures to use this week; come on over to Ashley’s blog and check out some others.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday, March 19, a day late

This is my first time joining the Scavenger Hunt. I commented on Andrea Dawn’s pictures  ‘if I were brave enough;’ that sparked a post joining with Five Minute Friday(also late). So I’m putting on my bravery mask and cape and sharing some pictures I’ve taken during the past year, Maybe I’ll have current ones in the future.

My 1935 Singer Sewing Machine a gift from my husband, the Farmer.

Word or Quote

I crossed stitched this years ago, it sits above the sewing machine.

Nature’s own

You would find this in my Mother-in-law’s garden, August, 2010

My grandsons crowding and listening, I love this picture.

Photographer’s Choice

What I saw one morning looking out my front door.
